Plant a Billion Trees with The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy has an ambitious plan to protect
and restore 30 million acres of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil by 2015. This forest is one of the
world’s most endangered–only 7% of its
original area remains. The Conservancy launched the campaign
to restore one billion native trees
to the Atlantic Forest in 2008. Plant a Billion Trees in The Atlantic Forest
will remove 10 million tons of carbon dioxide from the
atmosphere every year–the same effect as removing 2 million cars from our roadways.
